Through the eyes of others

With Lucas Dhont and Małgorzata Szumowska, FilmFest Hamburg is presenting two formative voices of European cinema as Filmmakers in Focus this year. As different as their cinematic styles may be, they are united by a keen eye for the tension that exists between identity, social expectations and personal relationships. Both will be in Hamburg to present their latest films and a selection of earlier works, offering insights into their creative process during discussions about their work.
