The international network of FILMFEST HAMBURG INDUSTRY DAYS continues to expand: the Marché du Film in Cannes will become an official partner of the International Film Distribution Summit (IFDS) 2026, taking place in Hamburg from 29 September to 1 October.

As a partner of the Best International Innovation Distribution Award, the Marché du Film will support the prize honouring outstanding achievements in international film distribution. In addition, selected participants from the Cannes Makers emerging talent programme will be invited to attend both the IFDS and its partner event, European Work in Progress (EWIP), in Hamburg, providing further opportunities to build and strengthen international industry connections.

This collaboration highlights the growing international reach of FILMFEST HAMBURG INDUSTRY DAYS and further reinforces Hamburg’s position as a leading meeting point for filmmakers and industry professionals from around the world. It also builds on the long-standing relationship between FILMFEST HAMBURG and the Festival de Cannes through the #ATELIER talent programme.

Since becoming part of FILMFEST HAMBURG INDUSTRY DAYS in 2025, the IFDS has established itself as an important platform for discussing current developments, challenges and innovations in international film distribution. This year’s FILMFEST HAMBURG INDUSTRY DAYS will take place from 28 September to 1 October.
