How Is an Animated Film Made?

Our free Junior Film Workshop offers insights into the making of Seeräubermoses, the animated film based on the popular children’s book by Hamburg author Kirsten Boie. Children, families, and anyone interested will learn how a literary work is transformed, step by step, into a film for the big screen.

The directing team behind Seeräubermoses and the Hamburg-based production company Ulysses Filmproduktion use storyboards, character designs, film clips, and original footage to demonstrate how the story makes its way from the children’s book to the big screen. Readings from the book round out the workshop.

Together with the filmmakers, participants interactively explore the creative stages of film production.
