Join Us!
Once again this year, there were plenty of opportunities to get actively involved in FilmFest Hamburg Junior: as part of the Junior Jury, the Junior Moderation Team or the Junior Movie Kids. Would you like to join us next year? Then be sure to check back! You’ll find all the information about how to get involved in 2027 here on our website next year.
Junior Moderation
The films in the FilmFest Hamburg Junior section are presented by children and young people aged 11 to 16. They introduce the films in the cinema, interview invited guests and lead the Q&As. If you enjoy being in the spotlight and are curious to ask filmmakers your own questions, this is your chance to step onto the stage. Our moderation team is supported by a professional mentor who will help you prepare and guide you along the way with plenty of valuable tips and advice.
Junior Jury
The Junior jury watches all films of the competition and presents the main award MAJA. But being part of the jury also comes with responsibility: before a film can receive the prize, it has to be carefully discussed and debated. There may be many different opinions along the way, but in the end, only one film can win. Do you love watching films and talking about them with others? Then join our jury in 2026! The jury will, of course, be guided and supported by a professional throughout the festival.
Junior Movie Kids
The Junior Movie Kids take a closer look at selected films and meet the filmmakers behind them. Together with media educators, they explore the films, share their impressions and prepare their own questions for interviews. These conversations are turned into podcasts, offering a unique and personal perspective on the festival through the eyes of young film fans. After the festival, you can listen to the podcasts on the Junior Movie Kids website and on the Ohrlotsen podcast channel.
