Synopse
DOCUMENTARY In several personal portraits of relatives and mentors, Pegah Ahangarani sketches various expressions of resistance in the mirror of her life story. The film won Best Documentary at Cannes. Starting with personal archives, home videos, films of demos, newspaper articles and sound recordings, the actor and director illustrates 40 years of Iranian history. From the revolution in 1979 through to the current war with Israel and the USA, she assembles intimate and collective memories to form the portrait of a country marked by political suppression that lives in constant hope of a new revolution.
