Synopse
A poetic drama between life and death, dream and reality: Fatih Akin’s new film is an unusual love story. Farasha and Faris are 20 when they meet at an end-of-school party: a moment that changes everything. That same night Farasha dies. After a desperate search to make contact with Faris, she finds a way: she can meet Faris, but only in his dreams and only for 40 nights. The boundaries between reality and imagination begin to blur and their love grows and grows – until the last night.
Regie
Fatih Akin is one of Germany’s best-known film makers. Films like Head-On (2004), Soul Kitchen (2009), Tschick (2016) or The Golden Glove (2019) won numerous awards. Most recently, FilmFest Hamburg showed his works Rhinegold (2022) and Amrum (2025).
