LET’S ZAK

For a cinematheque of the future!

While some people are already declaring cinema dead, Hamburg is not the only city lacking an institution with international appeal that brings together different historical and contemporary strands of audiovisual culture and opens up low-threshold access to them. With the concept for the Centre of Audiovisual Cultures Hamburg (ZAK), an initiative from the Kinemathek Hamburg has been setting new impulses since last year and asks itself and us the question of what a cinematheque of the future could and should be in a city society that has had to ask itself how it wants to deal with (film) cultural spaces in the future.
