Accredited professionals were able to meet, exchange knowledge and network for future collaborations at the FILMFEST HAMBURG INDUSTRY DAYS from 2 to 6 October 2023. The five-day INDUSTRY DAYS in cooperation with industry partners addressed topics such as the convergence of art, freedom and responsibility in curatorial decisions, a contemporary ageing image of women in film and television, green storytelling, the issue of rights retention and the cinematheque of the future. At the concluding 4th Explorer Conference, topics such as diversity, the use of artificial intelligence in creative work and audience development were discussed.
With the FILMFEST HAMBURG #ATELIER23, the festival offered a creative working and dialogue space for film students from Germany and international debut filmmakers for the second time. Over three days, 16 students had the opportunity to view three films from the programme exclusively and to talk to the filmmakers. They also met a delegate of the “Semaine de la Critique” from Cannes to talk about their work and demands and about the chances and difficulties of making the step from film school into the A-festival world.
16 producers from the NORDIC PRODUCERS CLUB PLUS from Scandinavia will meet German producers and decision-makers at FILMFEST HAMBURG. The three-day programme has offered practical case studies and workshops dealing with the most important legal and financial issues producers face in their daily work.
