Story
Aysa is married to Ilya, a truck driver who is an alcoholic. He loses his job and Aysa’s love. She starts a new life with Cemsit. Years later, Ilya appears on her doorstep and Aysa has to choose between the two men. Atif Yilmaz poses existential questions: What is love? Which is harder: to stay or to go? “The Girl with the Red Scarf” is based on “Jamila” by Chingiz Aitmatov, which Louis Aragon referred to as “the world’s greatest love story.”
