Story
Trashy, with a great cast and a soundtrack from the young Jean-Michel Jarre: this cultish Utopian end-times drama has been comprehensively restored to mark the 40th anniversary of its original release. A dangerous epidemic breaks out in Hamburg. Those infected go crazy and die. The authorities react in panic and impose senseless emergency measures. In a quaratine camp, a doctor (Helmut Griem), a young woman (Carline Seiser), a sausage seller (Ulrich Wildgruber) and an anarchistic wheelchair user (Fernando Arrabal) get to know each other. Together, they manage to escape. The group is intending to head South, but their journey becomes a chaotic odyssey through Germany.
