Synopse
A retro-trip with a triad of stars: John Malkovich, Sam Rockwell and Steve Buscemi in a black comedy thriller. Shortly before the putsch in Chile in 1973, CIA agents Chris (John Malkovich) and Lee (Sam Rockwell) are sent by the head of department MJ (Steve Buscemi) from Santiago to the Easter Islands. Against the backdrop of the islands’ Moai statues, the partners of many years struggle with their dark past and current conspiracies. At the same time, Chris’ acquaintanceship with two rebellious students threatens to turn the journey to the remote paradise into complete chaos.

Martin McDonagh is an Irish dramatist and film maker. His first full-length film In Bruges (2008) brought his international breakthrough. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (FFHH 2017) was nominated for eight Oscars. In 2022, FilmFest Hamburg showed his film The Banshees of Inisherin.
