Synopse

A state of emergency of the heart: a night of burning protest brings two young people together who really belong on opposite sides of the barricades. In the streets of Belgrade, unrest against the government is seething. Right in the middle are activist Lena – and Stefan, who gets caught up in the disturbances without really having any political views. Despite the ideological abyss between them, they are united in the desire to break out. Together they plunge into a heady vortex of anger, ecstasy and passionate proximity. But when the violence reaches its peak, they can only try and flee together, far away from the chaos in the city.

Regie

Jelena Maksimović was born in Belgrade. The director and editor has shown her work at many festivals, including Locarno and Rotterdam. Her debut feature Until the Day Ends had its premiere in 2026 in the Orizzonti competition at Venice.
