Synopse
Mohammad Rasoulof’s new film, shot in secret, is a brilliant political thriller and an angry settling of account with the Iranian regime. In Cannes, the film won a special award along with four other prizes. Iman has just been promoted to the post of investigating judge at the Revolutionary Court in Tehran when the country is swept by massive protests after the death of a young woman. Although the demonstrations grow and the state reacts with ever harder measures, Iman comes down on the side of the state and in so doing causes a deep rift within his family. His daughters on the other hand are electrified by the events, while his wife Najmeh desperately tries to keep everyone together. When Iman discovers that his service gun has disappeared, he suspects someone in the family.
