Synopse
In a mixture of archive material and fiction, this passionate portrait rediscovers the pioneering work of photographer and journalist Gerda Taro. Paris, 14th July 1937. Gerda Taro (Emilia Schüle) is spending her last day before returning to the Spanish front with her partner Robert Capa (Aaron Altaras) and the close friends she fled Nazi Germany with. While past and present intermingle, she revisits formative moments in her life: her political activism in Leipzig at the side of her first love, her years of exile in Paris, her stormy relationship with Capa, her discovery of photography and growing determination to use her Leica as a tool of resistance and freedom.
Regie
Alina Marazzi is one of the most innovative Italian directors of her generation. Her documentary For One More Hour With You (2002) was the first part of her celebrated trilogy about motherhood, which was completed with We Want Roses Too (2007) and her debut feature All About You (2013).
