Synopse
After almost a decade away, Andrei Swjaginzew returned with a merciless thriller about power and corruption and promptly won the Jury Prize at Cannes. Russia, 2022. Immediately after the invasion of Ukraine, wealthy entrepreneur Gleb sees himself forced to support the war effort. He is ordered to "recruit" men from his company. But, while the official pressure on him grows, he begins to lose control of his own life. Gleb suspects his wife Galina of having an affair with a young artist, ushering in the collapse of his carefully constructed life.

Since his debut film The Return (2003), Andrey Zvyagintsev has been one of the most important voices in Russian cinema. His films Leviathan (2014) and Loveless (2017) were both nominated for the Foreign Language Oscar. He lives in exile in France.
