Synopse
The story of two very different girls who find friendship through a creative dialogue in a nostalgia-infused manga adaption. Open-minded Fujino is artistically gifted and draws mangas for the school newspaper. When her fellow pupil, introverted Kyomoto, impresses her with her work, Fujino is torn between admiration and competitiveness. Their first meeting lays the foundation for an eventful relationship over a period of 13 years during which the two follow their dream of leaving their small town and becoming professional manga artists.
Regie
Hirokazu Kore-eda is a Japanese director who won the Golden Palm at Cannes with Shoplifters in 2018. His first film Maborosi was shown in Venice, where Look Back was shown this year in competition.
