Synopse

A model estate in Denmark as a place of longing: A biting scifi satire shows that there’s no way to live right in the wrong place. In the not-too distant future, Levi and her partner Minu are participants in the reality TV show "Hygge", which aims to idealize cosy, small-family life on an idyllic North Sea island. Minu feels fine wherever all’s right with the world and gives her all in a challenge where the prize is an opportunity for artificial insemination. Levi on the other hand keeps colliding with the show’s strict rules. She soon notices that nothing is right in this superperfect world.

Regie

Lena Fakler and Zarah Schrade studied screenplay writing and film direction in Hamburg and Munich. They work together, developing ideas for cinema and TV. With Hygge they celebrated their feature film debut at the 2026 Max Ophüls Prize festival.
