Synopse
A quiet, fascinatingly lit melodrama about hidden affection and a dreamlike portrait of the city of Saigon. Ninh instals decibel counters in public places and is a witness to the everyday silence that marks most relationships. He himself lives with his mother, filled with longing for his ex-wife Ngoc and his children. His parents too are separated and have stopped talking to each other. Slowly, Ninh frees himself from his inner petrifaction so as not to lose the connection to the people in his life and seek reconciliation.
Regie
Lê Bảo is a self-taught film-maker from Vietnam who discovered cinema by watching foreign films on his computer before making his own first short film when he was 20. His debut film Taste was shown at the Berlinale in the Encounters section in 2021.
