Synopse

Growing up in a climate of violence: with a fantastic female lead, this intense coming-of-age drama portrays the awakening of a teenage girl from Kosovo. Pristina, Kosovo, the end of the 90s. the war is getting closer and the ethnic tensions are increasing. Meanwhile, 13-year old Dua is struggling to find her place among her contemporaries – and in her changing body. After an incident that shocks her community, she gets into the firing line. She becomes friends with fearless Maki, who convinces her of an unexpected form of resistance.


Regie

Blerta Basholli is a Kosovan screenplay author and director. During the war, she sought refuge in North Macedonia and Germany. Her debut feature Hive (2021) won the Jury Prize, Best Direction and the Audience Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. Dua was given the SACD Award in the Semaine de la Critique section at Cannes.
