Synopse

The unfortunate Daigo has lost his position as a cellist and returns to Japan’s north with his wife. Unwittingly, he applies for a job with an undertaker’s, mistaking it for a travel agent’s. But an ample salary and a grotesque self-experiment lead him to discover the dignity that the old ritual he must perform gives the last farewell in the face of the next of kin. His wife, however, does not approve. A beautiful drama about love, family ties and the final hour.
