Synopse
A film like an encounter: with the past and the present, with injustice and violence and tangled paths of life. In Jerusalem, Kamal, a 60-year old Palestinian, is ordered by an Israeli court to pay a large social security debt incurred by his son. But Wael drowned many decades before in the Red Sea. As no official death certificate can be found, Kamal now has to find out what exactly happened to his son. In the quicksands of memory, he tries to put together the traces of an unknown life and in doing so unavoidably rediscovers his own past.

Muayad Alayan is a Palestinian film director and producer whose work has been showed at film festivals all over the world. In 2018, FilmFest Hamburg showed his film The Reports on Sarah and Saleem.
