In 2022, FILMFEST HAMBURG will once again focus more on young filmmakers. At this year’s festival, 16 film students from eight German universities will meet three directors whose debut films were screened in the renowned parallel section at this year’s Cannes Festival. In cooperation with the European Film Promotion, the festival is also inviting several young European filmmakers from the Future Frames project to Hamburg to network and present their short films. The aperitif serves as the kick-off for both programmes.
In addition, FILMFEST HAMBURG will be showing five short films as German premieres as part of FUTURE FRAMES GOES HAMBURG on 6 October at 9:15 pm in the Studio Kino.
The filmmakers are film students or graduates of European film schools and were presented to the international film industry and press in the summer as part of the FUTURE FRAMES NEXT GENERATION OF EUROPEAN CINEMA programme of the European Film Promotion (EFP) network. Now the FUTURE FRAMES directors are going on an autumn tour, meeting filmmakers in Hamburg and presenting their films personally to the FILMFEST audience.
