Filmfest thanks its partners for their support

maxdome is the new main partner of the 30th FILMFEST HAMBURG. The first German online video store will accompany cinema and film fans this year from 29 September to 8 October in the cinemas and will also extend the Filmfest at home in home cinemas with a selection of the 30 best films from the last 30 years of Filmfest.
“We love cinema and we love film. In this respect, we are pleased to be able to support Filmfest Hamburg for the first time as an online video store,” says Hans D. Henseleit, Managing Director of maxdome. The streaming portal not only extends FILMFEST HAMBURG through its selection of favourite films from the last 30 years of Filmfest, chosen by the programme team, but also through its large film archive, which offers Hollywood blockbusters as well as small arthouse films on demand.
Festival director Albert Wiederspiel is also pleased about the numerous partners and sponsors this year: “We are very happy to be able to count on so much support again, especially for our anniversary. A very special thank you goes to the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Especially in these troubled times, which also have economic effects on all of us, it is elementary to forge new alliances, such as with our other new partner, SIGNAL IDUNA, but also to have long-standing and loyal partners such as the Deutsche Fernsehlotterie, the Hapag-Lloyd Foundation, Studio Hamburg, MOIA, the Karin and Walter Blüchert Memorial Foundation and the NDR at our side. I would especially like to thank our partner ARTE and at the same time congratulate them on their 30th anniversary, here’s to another 30 years together.”
FILMFEST HAMBURG also receives support from the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg for the implementation of the national competition of the Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival. The civilsociety-initiated “ART CONNECTS – Aid Fund for Projects with Cultural Workers in Need of Protection” and Hamburg Marketing GmbH also provided significant assistance.
FILMFEST HAMBURG will take place from 29 September to 8 October 2022 with over 130 films. Festival cinemas are the Abaton, Alabama, CinemaxX Dammtor, Metropolis, Passage and Studio-Kino. The programme will be announced on 13 September 2022, advance ticket sales start on 14 September with the Yellow Hour at Levantehaus and on 15 September at the other advance ticket sales points.
