First FILMFEST HAMBURG films in the Oscar race

Some films from the FILMFEST HAMBURG programme 2021 have already been entered into the race for the Oscars in the category “Best International Feature Film” by their respective producing countries. Here you can find an overview of the entries announced so far for the 2022 Academy Awards:

The deadline for submissions is 1 November 2021. A shortlist of 15 films will be published on 21 December before the five final nominees are announced on 8 February 2022. The 94th Academy Awards will take place on 27 March 2022 in Los Angeles.
