Story
A lighthouse becomes the scene for a gripping face-off between two men. A remote island off the New England coast at the turn of the century. The lighthouse keepers Thomas Wake (Willem Dafoe) and Efraim Winslow (Robert Pattinson) are there to repair and maintain the lighthouse and its equipment. In the confined space, two very different characters clash – and, as a seemingly endless storm breaks above them, the conflict becomes a brutal war of nerves.
Director
In 2015 ROBERT EGGERS (*1983) presented his debut feature The Witch, which went on to win several awards. The Lighthouse is his second film and won the FIPRESCI Prize in the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs section at Cannes.Trailer
