Story
The young Chilean director tells the story of her aunt Sibila Arredondo, widow of the famous Peruvian writer José María Arguedas, with whom she shared important moments in her childhood. After Pinochet seized power in 1973, she had to go into exile in Lima, where Sibila lived. Besides archive material, interviews and family footage, Arredondo tries to decode the silence of her family, who one day stopped speaking about Sibila in her presence – she had been arrested for her connections to the terrorist Luminous Path movement. A critical, yet tender film about the subjectivity of revolution.
