Story
Changing political regimes are a bit like warming up yesterday’s lunch, or so claims the ageing Macedonian, Katerina (Svetlana Yancheva). “It’s just the same, but tastes a bit different.” From 1941-1944, Macedonia was occupied by Bulgaria, before Tito made it the 6th Republic of the Yugoslavian Federation in August, 1944. The first free elections took place there in 1990, and it became a sovereign state in 1991. In his first feature film, which was a box-office hit in Bulgaria, documentary-maker Kostadin Bonev takes a look at the dark periods Macedonia had to suffer in the course of the 20th century as we follow Katerina’s path through the ages.
