Story
Based on real events, this powerful debut tells of racism, fake news and the rise of the New Right. Irina is a single mother from Ukraine, who lives in a small Czech town. One night, her 13-year old son Igor is mugged and badly injured. When he comes round, he puts the blame on their Roma neighbours. While the police investigate, the whole town expresses solidarity with mother and son and joins Irina in her fight for justice. But when it turns into a big campaign and different figures from the media, politics and civil society start to use the incident for their own ends, Irina begins to have doubts.
