Basque director Montxo Armendáriz tells the story of Maestra, a filmmaker, who is making a film about the (fictitious) Basque town of Obaba. We view the town from her perspective and get to know its inhabitants. Isolation, ethnic identity and brutality are the themes of this remarkably poetic and gripping film.
