Story
Approaching 60, Kesse represents the third generation of fishermen in his family in a little port in Jutland. Fishing is his life. But times are hard. Shrinking fish stocks, strict environmental regulations, the financial crisis – Kesse has his back to the wall. He is forced to sack his only crew member and unwillingly agrees to a deal: for an extra contingent of catch he’ll take a marine biologist with him on his next trip. At first, the interaction between the two is difficult, but little by little the fisherman’s gruff exterior begins to mellow. The Sunfish combines the social realism of a Ken Loach with a large portion of humour and affection. Tickets for the screening in Boizenburg are only available at Kino Boizenburg.
