Innere Blutungen

Story

The Austrian provinces, 1965 to 1975. The film presents a series of “true stories” of the time, all from local newspapers. From the spectacular, like the hotel owner who gave his wife oxygen for weeks after she had died to prepare for her resurrection, to the everyday: a golden wedding anniversary, what’s on at the local cinema (Westerns and soft porn) and a teenager’s punishment for getting pregnant. The stories told off camera are accompanied by an associatively constructed stream of private footage and photos from the period. Innere Blutungen opens a window on the provincial state of mind.
