Story
Ziad lives with his father Yacine in the only remaining zoo in West Jordan. The animal-mad boy sends every free minute with the giraffes Rita and Brownie. When Brownie is killed one night in an air-raid, Rita stops eating. Ziad, too, withdraws more and more. Yacine tries everything to cheer his son up and find a new partner for Rita. But the only bull giraffe in question lives in Israel… With great sensitivity, the film portrays the challenges and impotence that characterize everyday life in West Jordan and tells the touching story of a boy’s love of animals.
