Story
Following in the footsteps of Pedro Almodóvar and Greta Gerwig, this comedy follows the fortunes of a cunning mother-daughter team trying to get by in crisis-ridden Spain. When Leonor loses her job as a stylist in London, she has no choice but to go back to her mother in her home town of Gijón on the Spanish coast. Since the death of her husband, María has been without any means of support, but wouldn’t dream of changing her lifestyle to suit her new circumstances. So with criminal energy and a healthy portion of grandezza, she scams her way through life. Soon, however, problems and debts threaten to overwhelm her.
