Story
RECOMMENDED FROM AGE 9: Tessin in the 19th century. 14-year old Giorgio lives in poor but happy circumstances. For reasons of poverty, his father sells him to a people-smuggler who wants to have the boy work in Milan as a chimney-sweep. Luckily, he meets The Black Brothers, a group of young chimney sweeps who stand together and are planning their escape. A successful literary adapotation of the eponymous children’s classic by Lisa Tetzner and Kurt Held, based on true personal stories.
