Story
Namie is a small town not far from Fukushima where Kyoko Miyake spent the summers of her childhood. Today, Namie lies in a radioactively contaminated prohibited area. The director travels with her aunt to the desolate, abandoned town. While many refugees have come to terms with the loss of their homes, Namie’s aunt stills dreams of returning. She had a bakery, an undertaker’s and a function room for weddings. For her, the present lies in ruins, but not the past. The past was characterized by an unconditional belief in nuclear power and the power station operator Tepco. A film about the emotional consequences of the reactor disaster.
