Story
Two shots, 25 years apart. The first, in 1996, is an official execution, the second a lovers’ quarrel. What is the connection? A sophisticated thriller, which shows the Ukraine between lethargy and awakening. Despite becoming independent, until the summer of 1996 Ukraine reserved the right to pronounce death sentences and carry them out. A vestige of the bad old days of repressive Soviet rule. It is in this period that Aisel and Kiril grow up. Their fathers, both policemen, aren’t home that much as they investigate the murder of a colleague using extremely questionable methods. 25 years later, there is a family meeting which ends in abrupt fashion.
