Synopse
A star is born: newcomer Jessie Buckley shines in this unsentimental portrait of a rebellious country singer on the road to fame. Newly released from prison, single mum Rose-Lynn (Jessie Buckley) is trying to get her life together. She keeps her head above water with a cleaning job, while dreaming of appearing at the Country Festival in Nashville and finally leaving the run-down tenements of Glasgow behind her. When her boss hears Rose-Lynn sing, she is bowled over and organizes a few little gigs. Rose-Lynn begins to find her voice – but her mother keeps hauling her back to grim reality.
