Synopse

Based on the autobiographical novel by Romain Gary, White Dog is a story of structural racism and hatred. The USA, 1968. Martin Luther King is murdered and the country is set alight by racial violence. Author Romain Gary (Denis Ménochet), who lives with actor Jean Seberg in L.A., takes in a stray dog. The dog is docile towards everyone except black people. It’s a »white dog« which has been trained to attack black demonstrators. For Seberg, it’s clear that the dog has to be put down. But Gary sees it as a victim of racism and gives it to Keys, a black dog trainer, who he hopes can heal it.
