Synopse
After five touristy years, Woody Allen is finally telling another of his typical New York stories. It centres on the eccentric quantum physician Boris Yellnikof (Larry David), who is bemoaning his life. He was almost awarded the Nobel Prize, his wife has left him, and now he teaches children to play chess. When the young runaway Melody (Evan Rachel Wood) moves in with him, his life is turned upside down. Especially when her parents (Patricia Clarkson, Ed Begley Jr.) show up from the deep South… A warm-hearted comedy, critical of America and full of the fulminant, sweeping blows that are so characteristic of Woody Allen.
Regie
WOODY ALLEN (*1935) has made more than 50 films as writer and director. Annie Hall (1977), Hannah and her Sisters (1984) and Midnight in Paris (2011) all won Oscars.
