Synopse
This dream-like coming-of-age drama based on Justin Torres‘ novel We The Animals won the Next Innovator Award at Sundance. Brothers Manny, Joel and Jonah are inseparable. They stand together like rocks in the constantly changing currents of their parents' on/off relationship that is now threatening to fall apart completely. While his brothers increasingly take on characteristics of their irascible father, Jonah, the youngest, tries to deal with his budding sexuality. He senses that he is different to his environment – and disappears into a parallel world which blurs the borders between the real and the fantastic.
Regie
JEREMIAH ZAGAR (*1981) was nominated for an Oscar for his first documentary In a Dream (2008). We the Animals is his debut feature.
