Synopse
HYBRID A deeply black, hypnotically expressionistic ghost story from Lisbon: Pedro Costa‘s new film won the Golden Leopard at Locarno. Vitalina Varela won the award for best actress. Vitalina Varela disembarks from the plane. The woman from the Cap Verde islands has been waiting 25 years for this flight, but she‘s too late: her husband Joaquin was buried three days ago. The only thing that remains for Vitalina is to settle the dead man’s affairs. Stiff with grief, she moves through the ramshackle quarter of Lisbon. Shreds of memories come to her in the dark. They tell of a shared house on the Cap Verde islands that remained unfinished because Joaquin upped and left.
