Synopse
Just as the hero of the saga Odysseus had only one goal, namely to get back to his beloved wife, so too in Julio's life there is only one constant: the phone calls to his mother back home in Peru and the money he sends her. Julio moved to Santiago de Chile. The former history professor now does odd jobs. He manages to work his way up, even has opportunities to fall in love, but the "Odysseus feeling" remains: the overwhelming loneliness of the migrant and his insatiable longing for home. Ulysses is a nuanced psychological study that goes beyond the usual case studies of migrant life.
