Synopse
1979: Die Islamische Revolution fegt über den Iran. Die ostdeutsche Chemikerin Beate (37) folgt ihrem Ehemann Omid (44), einem in der DDR lebenden, iranischen Dissidenten, voller Liebe und Hoffnung in dessen Heimat. Doch nach der anfänglichen Aufbruchstimmung wird das Leben für Beate und ihre Tochter Sarah (8) zur Hölle. Erfasst von Willkür, Gewalt und religiösen Doktrinen driftet das Land immer weiter in eine unbarmherzige Diktatur. Und Beate und Omid müssen eine verhängnisvolle Entscheidung treffen.
