Synopse
Kiyoshi Kurosawa is known for his horror movies. Although it lacks supernatural phenomena, this portrait of a Japanese nuclear family is full of subtle horror.Father Ryuhei makes a secret of losing his job. Soon the others also bear secrets. The oldest son joins the US Army, mother Megumi manically does housework, little Kenji learns the piano against his father’s will. In unexcited, calm takes, the film dissects an inability to communicate and unsettlingly exposes the isolation of the individual.
