Synopse
If one was to transfer the German standard of living to all the countries of the world, we would need three Earths. Yet the Western cultural and economic model is allegedly what the whole world aspires to. In the 10-part TV series Thinking Existenz, leading personalities question the status quo of the world from different perspectives: artist Laurie Anderson, one of the protagonists in the two episodes presented at the Filmfest, with regard to our relationship to technology, and Indian activist Vandana Shiva casts an eye on the exploitation of humans and nature in the developing world. Their conclusion: we have to reinvent ourselves, the sooner the better! All 10 episodes of the TV series will be shown during the day in the festival tent in Allende-Platz.
