Synopse
9-year old Sól is a dreamer and a petty thief – much to her parents' displeasure. So that she finally learns to be a useful member of society, she is sent to spend the summer with distant relatives who have a farm in a remote part of Iceland. Here, in the middle of nowhere, time seems to stand still and family relations are difficult. Sól is only able to establish a relationship with the stable boy Jón, but the farmer's daughter Ásta is also vying for his attention. Against a breathtaking natural backdrop, The Swan portrays a world in which a girl tries to find her freedom within the constraints of the adult world.
