Synopse

Christian is a well-known art curator, who drives an electric car and despite being separated from his wife dedicatedly looks after their two children. Right now, he's in the middle of preparation for his latest project The Square - a 4m x 4m white square. Everyone who enters it is supposed to behave in a tolerant and helpful way. But already the publicity campaign turns out to be tricky and causes Christian to doubt his idea. And when pickpockets steal his mobile phone, we find out how tolerant Christian himself is. The Square is a brilliant social satire and won the Palme D'Or at this year's Cannes festival

RUBEN ÖSTLUND (*1974) showed his film Turist at the 2014 FILMFEST HAMBURG The film went on to win more than 30 prizes and was nominated for both Oscar and Golden Globe. The Square is Östlund's second feature film.
