Synopse
A bit of body horror, but above all a declaration of love: in his latest film, David Cronenberg deals with the loss of his wife of 43 years. Innovative businessman Karsh falls into a deep hole after the death of his wife. Driven of pain, he develops a programme that enables bereaved people to follow the process of their loved one’s decomposition live as it happens underground. Karsh installs the so-called Shroud technology all over the cemetery he runs. But one night, several graves are desecrated, one of them his wife’s. Not only because this jeopardizes his business, Karsh sets out to find the perpetrators.
Regie
DAVID CRONENBERG (*1943 in Canada) is seen as the co-founder of Body Horror. Films like Videodrome (1983), The Fly (1986) or Naked Lunch (1991) have cult status today. His later work tended more towards drama, with A History of Violence (2005) or Eastern Promises (2007). FILMFEST HAMBURG showed the latter in 2007 and awarded him the Douglas Sirk Prize.
