Synopse

DOCUMENTARY A Cinema Paradiso in the snowy mountains of Azerbaijan: this magical film tells the story of an unlikely friendship nourished by a common love of cinema. Samid, an ageing former projectionist, decides to at last start showing films in his village again. The material requirements are anything but ideal, but he has an indestructible passion for cinema. What is missing is a functioning bulb for his old projector. When he finds an enthusiastic ally in young Ayaz, his dream seems to have a chance of being realized.

Regie

ORKHAN AGHAZADEH (*1988 in Azerbaijan) studied at the London Film School. His 2021 debut feature The Prisoner was the first production from Azerbaijan to be selected by the Cinéfondation Residency in Cannes.
