Synopse
A giddy trip through the underground culture of Buenos Aires at night. Excessive, without morals or goals – other than that of leaving all borders and limits behind. Director Edgardo Castro drifts through clubs and brothels and has sexual encounters with men, women and transvestites, takes drugs, drinks alcohol, starts transient friendships and then moves on. His journey is accompanied by tears in the fabric of time and holes in his consciousness which break up the continuum of everyday life. The camera sticks to bodies, the picture blurs and takes in the scene with a direct, almost primordial directness. Over more than four years, Castro worked exclusively with amateur actors: sex workers and creatures of the night. At the independent film festival in Buenos Aires The Night won the jury prize. The film contains numerous explicit sex scenes.
